132/365 Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day!  Today was a great day.  We started with "Muffins with Mom" before church this morning then headed to Grandpa and Nana's for lunch.  When we got home the kids did all of my "chores" for me that needed to be done and Ryan power sprayed the porch for me... ahhh, it's the little things!

131/365 University of Rio Grande Graduation

We now have a Doctor in the house! :)  Ryan received his Doctorate of Public Service (honorary, of course) at the 2013 University of Rio Grande Commencement today and after giving the commencement speech to around 2000 people I think it was well deserved... LOL!  He did a great job... we are very proud of him!

130/365 Tea With Blake

Kennedy's 1st Grade Play went off without a hitch this afternoon.  After school Blake gave me his Mother's Day present he made for me... this card with a bag of tea in it.  He thought it sounded like a really good idea for us to make it as soon as we got home from school... so we made a cup to share!

129/365 1st Grade Play Dress Rehearsal

Tomorrow is the premiere performance of the 1st Grade Plays.  I went in for their dress rehearsals today to get pictures for the yearbook.  I'm so glad I did because these pictures turned out far better than anything I'll get tomorrow.  Kennedy and her friend Jalyn are cats in the play Hattie and the Fox.  They both did a great job and made super cute cats!

We enjoyed a little time outside today after school.  Kennedy snapped this picture of me and Camryn with my iphone while we were blowing bubbles!

127/365 The Caterpillar

Kennedy discovered today that holding a caterpillar was actually kind of fun.  Camryn didn't agree... just looking at it was enough for her!

124/365 Holzer Heart Run 5K

 

 

This morning the boys and I ran in the Holzer Heart Run 5K.  This was Blake's 1st race so he and I ran/walked together and he received a medal for finishing 3rd in his age group.  Grant and Ryan teamed up and Grant finished 2nd in his age group and Ryan finished 3rd in his.  Great job boys!!!

123/365 Grant's Gift

Grant brought home my early Mother's Day present today... a limerick about ME! :)  This evening we took the kids to see Iron Man 3 that just came out and it was great... I think I was more excited than the kids!

122/365 The New Computer

It has arrived... my new HP Envy Touchscreen... whoo hoo!  Now to get everything off of my old computer that's in the process of crashing and moved on to this one.

They were all sitting on the couch... together... willingly... without fighting... definitely a rare event in our house!

120/365 Kennedy's Pictures

We jumped back into the swing of things this morning but still have tons of laundry and unpacking to do.  Here's a picture of Kennedy with the pictures she made for us while we were gone!

119/365 Grant's Cub Scout Graduation

We hit the road this morning and made it home in time to pick up Camryn then get the kids from school.  They were so excited to see us and we were just as excited to see them.  This evening Grant had his Cub Scout Graduation dinner and is now officially a Boy Scout.  He looked so handsome in his  uniform... Congratulations Grant!

118/365 Heading Home

We packed, cleaned, shopped, and took a walk on the beach before heading out this afternoon.  It was the warmest day yet on the beach... people were actually in the water today!  We made it to Statesville before stopping for the night.  We should be home tomorrow in time to get the kids from school.

117/365 Fun in the Sun

This morning we spent some time at the Outlet Mall before heading to the beach.  Once again it was a beautiful day but the ocean breeze made it a little on the cool side at the beach.... needless to say we didn't get in the water.  As we were leaving the beach late in the afternoon we caught a bride walking down the "aisle" with her dad while all the guest were on the beach waiting for them... very cool!  Loved the sign they left for the guests before they walked to their seats.  I told Ryan my next wedding would definitely be at he beach! :)  I utilized my self timer and got a few pictures of us on a walking bridge near our condo before heading to dinner this evening at Bistro 17 in Shelter Cove.  Tomorrow we will start our journey back home.

116/365 Happy 16th Anniversary!

Happy 16th anniversary to my amazing husband! He's a wonderful father, provider, and best friend... looking forward to celebrating many more anniversaries with him! We spent the day at the beach and pool where I proceeded to burn the front side of my body... ugh!  Guess tomorrow I'll get the back side. :)  It was a little on the cool side but the sun was still shining so we weren't complaining.  This evening we went to our favorite  Hilton Head restaurant... Alexanders... for a great anniversary dinner.  We then ended the night back over at Shelter Cove listening to some live music at Scott's Fish Market.

115/365 Hello HHI

Our long anniversary get-away weekend has begun!  This morning after dropping the kids off at school and Camryn off at Nana's we hit the road heading south.  We arrived in Hilton Head around 7pm... we are staying in the Palmetto Dunes Plantation in the condo of a friend of Ryan's.  I took this photo of our condo before heading to dinner but didn't take my camera out the rest of the night.  We had a great dinner at Scott's Fish Market in Shelter Cover.  Looking forward to a fun weekend!

113/365 The Brick

The huge crack in the brick is fixed!  This would be much more impressive if I could find the before picture... oh well, I'll keep working on that.  Now we just need to get the porch painted then we can start working on the much needed landscaping!

111/365 Camryn - 21 Months

Camryn's 21 months old today!  I'm not sure if she put her chair up on the couch or one of her siblings did... but it was funny!  Guess she needed to get comfortable so she could get her work done on the iPad! lol

108/365 Atari Flashback

We dropped Grant off at his last Weebelos den meeting this evening then ran to Walmart to pick up a few things.  The kids came across the Atari Flashback (who knew they even started selling this again - $30) and loved it!  I told them it was old and was what I used to play.... but Blake thought it was awesome and now wants it for his birthday! ha

107/365 Grant's New Uniform

He's been in Cub Scouts for 3 years now and is getting ready to graduate from Weebelos II to Boy Scouts (if he decides to continue) so we finally ordered a uniform with all of the accessories for his graduation.  He was way more excited than I thought he'd be.  Now to go through 3 years of badges, pins, and belt loops to figure out where everything goes!

106/365 5th Grade Fun Pictures

We finished up 5th grade fun pictures for the yearbook today with Grant's class.  They had fun picking out wigs, masks, glasses, etc for their picture then we took a crazy group picture.  Camryn even decided to join in for an individual pic! :)

105/365 Happy Birthday Mrs. Davis

Kennedy and I made this cute little sucker bouquet for her teachers birthday tomorrow! She also picked out a book from her room that she thought Mrs. Davis might like too! :)

103/365 Autism Awareness Day

This morning we went to Maggie's 5th Birthday party then after that went to Bob Evan's for Autism Awareness Day.  The kids had a fun time jumping in the bounce houses, taking a hay ride, and playing games.  Kennedy loved riding the horses and seeing all of her friends!
